Mac OS X: stop iMovie file import

Importing a file could take hours, I accidentally started importing a file. Could not find any option to stop it. Apple iMovie fail.
The only option left is Force Quit:

• Option+Command+Esc

• Hold

  Option+Shift+Command+Esc

  for 3 seconds (10.5+ only) to force quit the front-most application
